AFEO
The ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO) is a regional federation that unites
national
engineering organizations from ASEAN member countries. Established to strengthen cooperation among
the
engineering communities in Southeast Asia, AFEO serves as a platform for collaboration, knowledge
sharing, and the exchange of technical expertise across the region.
Through its programs, conferences, and joint initiatives, AFEO promotes the advancement of
engineering professionalism, innovation, and best practices to address regional challenges and
support
sustainable development. AFEO also plays an important role in fostering stronger partnerships among
engineers, industry leaders, academic institutions, and governments, contributing to the growth and
resilience of the ASEAN community.

PII
Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia (PII) is the national
professional organization representing engineers
from all engineering disciplines across Indonesia.
Established with an initial membership of only 75
engineers, PII has grown into one of the largest and most
influential engineering institutions in the country, with
approximately 98,000 registered engineerssupported
by a strong nationwide network of 280 city/regency
branches, 34 provincial chapters, and numerous
technical and professional divisions.

CAFEO 44
The Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (CAFEO) is a flagship annual
forum that
brings together engineers and engineering institutions across ASEAN to strengthen regional
cooperation
and advance engineering excellence. As a strategic platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and
collaboration, CAFEO addresses regional and global development challenges through engineering.
The 44th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (CAFEO 44), hosted by Persatuan
Insinyur Indonesia (PII), will be held in Bandung, Indonesia—a major center of education, industry, and
innovation. Under the theme, "Future of ASEAN: Shared Prosperity and Humanity Through Inclusive and
Sustainable Industrialisation," the conference highlights the role of engineers in supporting industrial
transformation that is sustainable, inclusive, and resilient.
The program features conferences, technical sessions, exhibitions, and institutional meetings that
bring
together engineers, policymakers, industry leaders, and academic institutions. Through these
activities,
CAFEO 44 aims to strengthen engineering capacity, encourage collaboration, and support ASEAN's
long-term
development goals.

HISTORY
Held annually in rotation among its member countries since 1982, CAFEO serves as a premier platform for fostering goodwill, mutual understanding, and regional cooperation across ASEAN. The conference brings together engineering professionals and stakeholders to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration in the fields of education, science, engineering, technology, the environment, human resource development, training, and the professional registration of engineers.
